News

Ladies and gentlemen, dear members,

The year 2019 which is ending was marked for our association by the participation in the federal congress Secours Santé in Toulouse, with the organization and the animation of 4 conferences at the psychologists job forum, 5 conferences in plenary at the session "Prevention of mental potential ”, 4 workshops (techniques for optimizing potential, psychological triage of workers following an attack, violence against women, positive communication and psychophysiological stabilization) and a workshop on suicidal behavior.

The AEPSP was also interviewed by the Senate inquiry on the taking into account of the risks of firefighters, leading to the drafting of a report of the law commission "Violence against firefighters: 18 proposals so that the 'unacceptable ", adopted on 11/12/2019, including 2 proposals which take up the work rendered by the AEPSP and directly concern psychologists working in the FD, with the recognition of our expertise, the recognition of the need to change our statutes and the organization of our missions at the national level.

Our association is still and always a place of meetings and lessons, around:

- working groups: SUAP, NOVI protocols and attacks, training of stakeholders (care of children, women victims of violence, stress prevention, etc.), training of psychologists and health personnel (SSO, USP, therapies focused on trauma ...),

- communications during scientific congresses (expo rescue, Secours Santé, ...) and in specialized journals (Secours Mag), research management (cardiac coherence, BFP Pompy, etc.)

- AEPSP seminar in Lyon from 24 to 25 January 2020, during which we will have a conference debate on the teaching of psychological first aid to firefighters and a day of exchange of practices and reflections on "tools in psychology, recruitment to the care of firefighters ”.

Our Annual General Meeting will be held on January 24 at 8 p.m.

Following the work rendered by the AEPSP this summer to the Senate Committee, the rapporteurs retained in their proposals several elements which are extracted from it and which directly concern psychologists working in the Fire District Commands, with the recognition of their expertise, the observation of the need to change their statutes and the organization of their missions at the national level.

Many first responders lack the courage to speak out about this mental illness, others have no words to describe it. It's an invisible disease, but still, it's there. It hides in our mind and grows inside, making us sick sooner or later.

Last week, we contacted Daniel, paramedic and firefighter, who creates incredible images of EMS scenarios that reflect the delicate situations experienced by first responders every day.

TraumaPsyInfo is the first French information and prevention application on post-traumatic stress disorder. Daily help for people suffering from post-traumatic stress, but also useful for those who want to learn.

- Access breathing exercises that will allow you to relax.

Healthcare professionals can reference themselves by following this link http://traumapsyinfo.fr/referencement.php or directly from the application (white arrow at the top left opening a hidden menu)

A new Android application is online (for 2 months ago and it has been updated very recently).

This application is intended to make a consensual inventory on psychotrauma, so that the victims but also their families can be informed, counseled, but also directed towards health professionals expert in psychotrauma.

This application also allows a psychological, but not diagnostic, assessment of traumatic symptomatology, and offers in addition exercises and games to relieve symptoms from breathing techniques, relaxation ... (these will evolve and new will be added very soon).

Finally, this application has an important point: the referencing of health professionals who are experts in the field, the referencing of institutions ... and the possibility of connecting these experts with patients, families ...
